CFAM Technologies provides solutions for entrepreneurs who wish to add value to basic products such as maize, barley, sorghum, soy, rice or wheat.
A library of recipes is available to clients for the development of new food or feed products. Sample products are produced on a laboratory extruder at the NWU. Once the client is satisfied with the products, consumer tests are undertaken.

Highly qualified design engineers form part of the team at CFAM. The team has years of experience in the design of not only twin-screw extruders and replacement parts,
but also other products such as sinusoidal pumps, marine ship pump jets and azimuth thrusters, twin-screw feeding systems, gravimetric PLC controlled feeding systems etc.
Transition from CAD model to physical component.
Designs complete with engineering calculations and detail drawings are provided. Drawings are done in Solid Works.

There is a tremendous need for training and building capacity in the extrusion field. Therefore CFAM Technologies offers internships, experiential training and assists Masters Degree engineering students with their projects.

A practical three-day workshop and seminar on the applications of extrusion technology in food and feed manufacturing
The main speaker is dr. Mian Riaz from the Texas A & M University in the USA, a world renown expert in extrusion.
Participants are introduced to the various aspects of extrusion and the application thereof in Africa. It will focus on the products and business opportunities that exist around extrusion. Practical demonstrations will be held on foods, feeds and pet food extrusion. The purpose of the demonstrations will be to show the delegates the basic operations of extruders and how to produce certain products with extrusion.
